- In the movie a boy name Benjamin was born under unique circumstances, he was born and elderly man and as time went on he got younger, despite his looks he was young inside and grew old normally. The story is told by Benjamin daughter who’s looking after her mum in hospital, she’s reading a journal which Benjamin has recored over his years of living. Abandoned by his biological father, Thomas Button, after Benjamin’s biological mother died in childbirth, he was raised by Queenie, a black woman and caregiver at a seniors home in New Orleans. At the age of 12 Benjamin met a young girl named Daisy her grandmother was a resident at the home and her and her mom were staying there, throughout the years they both keep in touch and reconnect in there forties where they have matched up in age and looks. They fall in love and get together and eventually have a child, Benjamin is soon to realise that as his child grows up he will only be getting younger and will not be able to help Daisy raise their kid, so he goes and leaves a diary for daisy and their child. they story ends with Benjamin turning into a toddler then a baby then he sadly dies. After daisy daughter is reading her the final bit of the diary as Daisy lays in her deathbed and she finds out that her father was Benjamin that was her mothers way of telling before she closes her eyes and passes away.
- Benjamin was a very kind man, he cared about people and especially the ones he loved. He was hardworking and determined in everything he did and didn’t let his disease stop what he wanted to do. Benjamin was polite and respectful and was always trying to do the right thing.
- Daisy was accepting of Benjamin and even when they were young she recognised that he was not like the others and knew that he was actually young inside. This did not stop her falling in love and having a kid with him as she loved him very much and cared about him a lot. Daisy was a very hardworking woman she was super passionate ballet and did it competitively she had goals and always wanted to complete them no matter what got in that way.
- time is going to happen no mater what and everyone is going to age whether they like it or not, you cant stop time. Fitzgerald wants us to take away that no matter what circumstances you are under you need to enjoy the time you have to live and achieve your goals and be determined because everyone is going to die one day so while its your time to live, make the most of it.
